Demining Protective Equipment & Tools

Since 1996, Med-Eng has designed, tested and manufactured multiple generations of Demining blast protective solutions against blast-type anti-personnel mines. Every suit, apron, helmet and visor system has been subjected to live blast testing to protect the vital body areas and face.

•Deminers can choose the protective ensemble that offers the optimal levels of blast protection, body coverage, mobility and acceptable weight to meet their requirements.
•All Med-Eng Demining equipment is compliant to the International Mine Action Standard (IMAS) 10.30, as proven through live blast testing, using instrumented mannequins.

Demining Apron

A lightweight, one piece garment that provides a base level of protection to the torso.
A chest plate is integrated.

The Demining Apron is available in two sizes.

Recommended for use with the Lightweight Demining Helmet to provide continuous frontal protection from the torso to the face.

Lightweight Demining Ensemble

The Lightweight Demining Ensemble (LDE) minimizes weight while providing options for protective coverage of the arms, legs and back.

Based on an Apron with integrated chest and groin plate. Users can choose to wear Trousers, Sleeves and a Back Protector, as required.

The Lightweight Demining Ensemble is available in four sizes.
Recommended for use with the Lightweight Demining Helmet to provide continuous frontal protection from the torso to the face.

Demining Helmet

The Lightweight Demining Helmet provides users with a very secure, four point retention system for the visor, to help keep it in place throughout a blast event. This is an advantage over visors that rely on only a head band design and do not have a retention system.

BombTec™ Individual Demining Kit

Includes 15 essential tools and equipment.
The multipurpose Leg Bag has 4 external and 3 internal pockets and MOLLE attachment points.
Users can add their own equipment in the supplied internal pouches and elastic loops.

The Individual Demining Kit enables the following:

•Visual search for tripwires
•Physical search for surface and buried landmines
•Marking of located or suspected antipersonnel mines, anti-tank mines or hazardous areas
•Neutralization of common firing mechanisms
•Removal of anti-personnel and antitank mines

For more complex demining and area clearance tasks, users can add capabilities using kits or modules from the BombTec™ HAL, Search and/or Tools range, including the Individual Tool Kit and Core Search Kit.
