TITLE:
Territory Manager-Americas (Force Protection)
DESCRIPTION:
The Territory Manager – Americas (Force Protection) identifies and secures sales opportunities and provides leadership and direction in the area of Force Protection and Tactical System sales within the Americas area of responsibility.
The incumbent assists the Director of Sales- Americas in all sales functions within Canada, the United States, Central and South America and the Caribbean Nations as well as all US and Canadian Forces serving abroad and is the primary responsible manager for all military accounts within these territories.
Incumbent also manages activities to support sales across multi-functions including Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD); Law Enforcement (LE); Force Protection (FP); Unexploded Ordnance (UXO); Demining; Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT); and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE), Infantry, Special Forces Operations (SpecOps) and Mechanized Military units within respective area of responsibility and assists other territory/functional managers and inside sales coordinators to do the same.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sales and Promotional Activities
- Prepares sales data for Management and Accounts
- Travels to key areas providing presentations, training and direct interface with the customer ensuring their needs are met where possible
- Maintains existing customer contacts; initiates and establishes new contacts within AOR
- Identifies product training leads and implementation of courses
- Identifies and recommends new market opportunities
- Manages exhibition organization and booth manning
- Manages projects within area of responsibility (AOR)
- Prepares proper bids to solicitations, RFQs, etc.
- Identifies process deficiencies and improvement initiatives to improve performance of sales team
- Supervises efficient use of product specialists, SMEs and technical training representatives (TTRs) within the AOR
- Manages TTR budget; and primary expense approval authority for same
- Coordinates, plans and directs entire team schedule and calendar of activities
- Assists the Contracts Administrator to validate terms, conditions and contract requirements and minimize company liabilities
- Approves quotes and purchase orders within given responsibilities
- Finds new sales leads/opportunities
- Travels 100+ days per year as required to properly manage military accounts
- Acts as primary Force Protection, Tactical Systems and Urban Combat Manager for the AOR
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Sales - Americas
- Strategic Sales Activities
- Manages to meet or exceed budget and sales targets
- Manages and is responsible for Cost Center Travel and Lodging Budgetary expenses for the outside sales staff and as direct by the Director of Sales – Americas
- Manages the sales pipeline (forecast) for all military opportunities within the AOR
- Acts as key member of the product review process
- Works closely with R&D and Product Development teams to bring the best possible ideas and products to market
- Liaisons frequently with the Director of Sales – America, for best strategy, synergies and use of resources to maximize revenue potential within AOR
- Recommends customer relationship and account management strategies
- Manages appropriate sales channels
- Performs and manages post sales services and training services programs
Qualifications:
- Management Experience Required, Program Management experience a PLUS
- Recent experience in a hostile environment desired
- Travel 100+ days per year as required
- Military and/or Law Enforcement Tactical operations experience required
- Experienced in preparing and presenting Power Point, oral and practical presentations.
- Experience in Excel, Word and other standard program also required.
- Ability to travel to foreign countries required.
- Must have effective English communication skills, both oral and written and must be able
- to conduct a verbal and practical presentation in front of an audience
- Must be capable of working independently, be resourceful and self motivated
- Must be willing to spend periods of several weeks away from home
- Security-aware and comfortable with working in countries/regions of unrest and conflict; a military/security background desirable
- Work location: Northern Virginia (Preferred)
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Will consider work experience in lieu of degree.
