TITLE:
Sox Compliance Specialist (3)- Term Positions
DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Global Program Manager – Internal Controls, the Sox Compliance Specialist (SCS) will work closely with Allen – Vanguard’s senior and middle management to create process walk-through documentation to meet Sarbanes-Oxley and Bill 198 compliance requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create process walk-through documentation including flow charts, narratives and risk/control matrices
- Implementation of a Sarbanes-Oxley and Bill 198 compliance model in order to sustain ongoing consistency
- Exercise strong accounting, auditing and SOX compliance work experiences to act as a mentor, coach and consultant to process and sub-process owners in building a comprehensive control environment
- Assume a leadership role in creating/executing test plans and project managing related remediation activities
Qualifications:
- Professional Accounting Designation (CA, CMA or CGA)
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience
- In addition a minimum 3 years of focused Sarbanes-Oxley/Bill 198 work experience
- Previous experience working within a global organization would be an asset
- Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP
- Proficiency in MS Project/Excel, Visio and allCLEAR would be an asset
- A team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.
- Ability/willingness to travel extensively (up to 30% international travel – UK)
