TITLE:
Product Specialist, Tactical Vehicle-Mechanical Systems
DESCRIPTION:
The Product Specialist – Americas, possesses general knowledge of the US Army Mechanized Combat Fleet, TACOM and US Army Program Management/related areas of expertise and capitalizes on this knowledge to provide unequalled product know-how and integration capabilities to customers and potential customers within the geographical and functional areas of responsibility.
The incumbent assists the Territory Manager - Americas (Military) as well as the other assigned Territory and Functional Managers and Product Line Management for the Americas in all sales functions within the United States, Canada, Central and South America and the Caribbean Nations as well as all US and Canadian Forces serving abroad.
Candidate also utilizes unique breadth of experience on combat wheeled and tracked vehicles, program initiatives, OEM installations and retrofits, system upgrades and other various tactical vehicle applications. The candidate will need to have excellent speaking and presentation abilities to provide system demonstrations to customers and other interested parties. Candidate provides briefings, product demonstrations, training and subject matter expert (SME) input to all activities to support sales and Product Line Management across multi-functional areas including Mechanized Combat, Special Operations, Force Protection, Infantry, Urban Combat and Law Enforcement, and assists other functional managers and inside sales coordinators when time allows.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Travels to key areas providing presentations, training and direct interface with the customer ensuring their needs are met where possible
- Trains customers on products and product use/interface
- Coordinates, sets-up, and participates in trade shows and other sales and marketing events as directed
- Maintains existing customer contacts; initiates and establishes new contacts
- Identifies product training leads and new sales leads/opportunities
- Provides SME recommendation and assistance for preparation to bids to solicitations, RFQs, etc.
- Identifies deficiencies and improvement initiatives to improve performance of equipment and sales initiatives
- Acts as key member of the product review process
- Performs post sales services and training services programs as directed
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Territory Manager - Americas (Military) or designated representative
Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have experience in Tactical Vehicles, Vehicle Management, TACOM and/or Program Management
- Must have Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent in experience
- Must enjoy working on and developing mechanical systems
- Must have “Ozone Depletion” credentials for handling refrigerant and refrigerant systems or be willing/able to complete certification prior to starting employment
- Must have solid / intimate understanding of vehicle power and air conditioning systems
- Experience in computer aided design (CAD) a definite asset
- Willing to travel 100+ days per year as required
- Military Tactical Operations experience in Southwest Asia highly desired
- Experienced in preparing and presenting Power Point, oral and practical presentations. Experience in Excel, Word and other standard program also required.
- Ability to travel to foreign countries required.
- Must have effective English communication skills, both oral and written and must be able to conduct a verbal and practical presentation in front of an audience
- Must be capable of working independently, be resourceful and self motivated
- Must be willing to spend periods up to several weeks away from home
- Security-aware and comfortable with working in countries/regions of unrest and conflict; a military/security background desirable
