TITLE:

Human Resources Coordinator - Term

DESCRIPTION:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and benefits support to the Human Resources department. Contributes to HR programs and policies and provides support to employees on general inquiries. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains integrity of the HRIS system: entry and audit of all employee information and reporting, department, compensation and status changes
  • Coordinates with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely flow of employee information and update of the timesheet/vacation/sick leave software
  • Administers the company benefits plan and addresses employee questions, reviews monthly statements for accuracy, interfaces with Canadian and US benefit providers
  • Administers the company RRSP/DPSP and 401K plan for Canadian and US employees
  • Maintains company wide headcount reports and organization charts
  • Interfaces with employees to provide information on HR programs and policies
  • Creates, runs and distributes standard and custom reports from the HR database
  • Prepares new employee packages and employee orientations, sets up new hires in various systems and databases, coordinates and distributes new hire information to all relevant departments
  • Coordinates annual Flu Shot Clinic and annual Service Awards
  • Updates and maintains monthly employee information boards
  • Orders HR office supplies and distributes HR mail
  • Maintains HR Intranet site and internal directory
  • Files all HR related documents in personnel files

Qualifications:

  • College or University completion in Human Resources Management or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • A minimum three years experience in a Human Resources role
  • Experience with an HRIS –ADP People @ Work
  • Experience with Benefits Administration – Canadian and US
  • Excellent MS excel skills essential
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload and multiple tasks with short deadlines
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical skills
  • Strong team player
  • Crystal reports and previous payroll experience is an asset
