Ron Purvis was a highly respected member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and then Med-Eng who dedicated his professional life to relentlessly increasing the safety of bomb disposal technicians worldwide.

Promoting the Pursuit of Safety in Bomb Disposal Operations

In 2003, Med-Eng created the Ron Purvis Memorial Award to honour the bomb technician or investigator who best exemplifies the qualities that Ron stood for. The most recent recipient is Mr. Gustavo Medina Gironzini of the Peruvian National Police.
